Coronation of Lord Dusk Shine (MMC WiP)

[Dusk Shine awakens in a strange dimension.  It looks like outer space, but there is a faint mist in the air.]

Dusk Shine:  [confused] Hello? [his voice is echoing] Where am I? What is this place?

Lord Solaris: [appears before Dusk Shine] Congratulations, Dusk Shine. I knew you could do it.

Dusk Shine: [Approaches Solaris] My Lord... [bows his head] I don't understand. What did I do?

Lord Solaris: You did something today that's never been done before, something even a great unicorn like Star Swirl the Sorceress was not able to do, [pulls out an old book and flips though the pages] because she did not understand friendship like you do. The lessons you've learned here in Ponyville have taught you well. [Raises Dusk Shine] You have proven that you're ready, Dusk Shine. [begins to lead Dusk Shine somewhere]

Dusk Shine: Ready? Ready for what?

[Dusk Shine follows Solaris.  Images from Dusk Shine’s past are shown before him as Solaris begins to sing a song.]

Lord Solaris:  You've come such a long, long way
And I've watched you from that very first day
To see how you might grow
To see what you might do
To see what you've been through
And all the ways you've made me proud of you
It's time now for a new change to come
You've grown up and your new life has begun
To go where you will go
To see what you will see
To find what you will be
For it's time for you to fulfill your destiny

[Suddenly Dusk Shine begins to glow.  Powerful magical energy picks him off the ground and surrounds him in a blinding white light.]

[Next Scene: The other five are searching for Dusk Shine.  Suddenly they see a giant purple star appear in the night’s sky.  The purple star slowly comes down to earth and disappears in a blinding white light.  Dusk Shine is lying down in its place.]

Applejack: [worried] Dusk… is that you?

[Dusk slowly stands up and in that moment, he reveals that he now has a magnificent pair of wings!  His friends all gasp in shock.]

Applejack: [amazed] Wha... I, I've never seen anything like it!

Rainbow Blitz: Ha! Dusk’s got wings! [Examines Dusk’s new wings] Awesome! I finally have a real flying buddy! [hugs Dusk Shine and gives him a noogie.]

Butterscotch: [annoyed] Hey!

Elusive: By Solaris’ beard, you've become an alicorn. I didn't even know that was possible.

Bubble Berry: [Swings by wearing a makeshift alicorn costume] Woooo! Alicorn party! [blows party favor]

Butterscotch: Wow... you look just like one of the Lords!

Lord Solaris: [Lands amongst the group] That's because he is a Lord. [Everyone gasps]

Bubble Berry: Hold on a second… [pulls out a glass or water, drinks it, and does a spit take.]

Dusk Shine: [confused] A… a Lord?

Lord Solaris: [Puts a hoof on Dusk Shine’s solder and looks him in the eye] Since you've come to Ponyville, you've displayed the charity, compassion, devotion, integrity, optimism, and of course, the leadership of a true Lord.

Dusk Shine: [worried] But... does this mean I won't be your student anymore?

Lord Solaris: Not in the same way as before. I'll still be here to help and guide you, but we're all your students now, too. You are an inspiration to us all, Dusk Shine. [Solaris bows his head to Dusk Shine.  Dusk Shine’s friends all bow their heads too.]

Dusk Shine: [nervious] But... what do I do now? Is there a book about being a Lord I should read?

Lord Solaris:  [laughs whole heartedly] There will be time for all of that later.

[Next Scene: At Canterlot Castle.  A coronation ceremony is in progress.  Solaris is standing on stage wearing a king’s robe with a magnificent crown.  To his right is Artemis, wearing a princely dark blue suit.  To Solaris’ left is Bolero, wearing the same red suit he wore at his wedding.  Also on stage are Dusk Shine’s friends, each in a nice suit.]

Lord Solaris:  We are gathered here today in celebration of a momentous occasion. My most honorable student, Dusk Shine, has done many extraordinary things since he's lived in Ponyville. He even helped reunite me with my brother, Lord Artemis. But today, Dusk Shine did something extraordinary. He created new magic, proving without a doubt that he is ready to be crowned Equestria's newest Lord. Fillies and gentlecolts, may I present for the very first time, Lord Dusk Shine!

[Lord Dusk Shine comes in wearing a princely red suit with a golden sash.  His normally disheveled hair is neatly styled.  Several guards and flag bearers follow him to the stage.  A choir begins to sing.]

Choir: His Lordship Dusk Shine cometh
Behold, behold
A Lord is here before us [Barbara hands Solaris a golden crown with the Jewel of Magic embedded in it.]
Behold, behold, behold [Solaris takes the crown and places it on Dusk Shine’s head.]
Behold, behold (behold, behold) [Dusk Shine turns and faces the audience.]
His Lordship Dusk Shine cometh [Dusk Shine heads out to the balcony.]
Behold, behold (behold, behold)
His Lordship is [Dusk Shine waves to the crowd.]
His Lordship is here

Lord Solaris: [Whispers] Say something, young Lord.

Lord Dusk Shine: Oh. Um... [clears throat] A little while ago, my teacher and mentor Lord Solaris sent me to live in Ponyville. He sent me to study friendship, which is something I didn't really care much about. [turns and faces his friends] But now, on a day like today, I can honestly say [his friends join him on the balcony] I wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for the friendships I've made with all of you. Each one of you taught me something about friendship, and for that, I will always be grateful. Today, I consider myself the luckiest stallion in Equestria. Thank you, friends. Thank you, everypony!

[The crowd lets out a thunderous applause.  Dusk Shine and his friends leave the balcony.  Upon reentering the main hall they are greeted by Gleaming Shield and Bolero.]

Gleaming Shield: Dusky! I’m so proud of you! [hugs Dusk Shine]

Lord Bolero: [shedding a few tears] I always knew you more than a regular old unicorn.

Lord Dusk Shine: Bolero, are you crying?

Lord Bolero: Of course not, it's... it's liquid pride. It’s a completely different thing.

Applejack: Way to go, my Lord!

Bubble Berry: That was the best coronation day ever!

Butterscotch: You’re the best friend we’ve ever had, Dusk Shine!

Lord Dusk Shine: You guys are the best friends I’ve ever had too.

[Next Scene: Lord Dusk Shine is walking through the streets of Canterlot.  He is surrounded by guards.]

Lord Dusk Shine: [singing] Life in Equestria shimmers [waves to the crowd]
Life in Equestria shines [tosses the rose in his vest lapel into the audience.  A mare catches it and faints.]
And I know for absolute certain [leaves the guards and rejoins his friends]

Stallion Six: [Singing] That everything (everything)
Yes, everything
Yes, everything is certainly fine
It’s fine

[Dusk Shine takes flight and flies to the camera.]

Lord Dusk Shine: [while flying] Yes! Everything’s going to be just fine! [crashes recklessly into the camera. The screen goes black.] I’m okay…
