Equestria Boys Part 5: Principal Solaris

[Next Scene inside the Principal’s office.  Dusk Shine knocks on the door.]

Principal Solaris: Come in

[Dusk Shine opens the door and walks inside.]

Principal Solaris: [His face is hidden behind some paperwork] May I help you young man?

Dusk Shine: [Sets his backpack with Barb inside on the ground and approaches the Principal’s desk.][nervous] Well… I…

[The Principal lowers his paperwork to reveal his face.  He is a tall, burly man with red hair and a full beard.]

Dusk Shine: [regains his composure] My name is Dusk Shine.  I’m new here and I heard that Butterscotch found some sort of golden helmet this morning.

Principal Solaris: Yes. [Stand up, and takes his paperwork with him] The art department reported it stolen yesterday. Fortunately the thief dropped it in the front lawn.  [places his paperwork in a filing cabinet] I’ve had Vice Principal Artemis move it someplace safe. [shuts the filing cabinet] So I take it you’re interested in running for Lord of the Wondercolts this year?

Dusk Shine: [confused] Wondercolts? Are they like the Wonderbolts?

Principal Solaris: [confused] You mean the fighter pilots? No, the Wondercolt's are just our school's mascot.  I have a flyer of them on the wall here. [point to a flyer on the wall]

[Dusk Shine looks at the flyer and is amazed by what he sees.  The flyer depicts an image of him and his five friends in pony form, each one wearing their element of harmony.]

Principal Solaris: Every year at Canterlot High, the students select one boy who will take on the role of Lord of the Wondercolts for the big homecoming game, [points to the pony that looks like Dusk Shine in the flyer] which is the purple one seen here. He represents both power and friendship.  The helmet is part of the costume.

Dusk Shine: [thinking] Hmm. You asked if I was interested in running for Lord.  Can anyone run?

Principal Solaris: Yes. You just need to let the head of the homecoming planning committee know you'd like to be on the ballot. Was there anything else?

Dusk Shine: [walks out of the office] Umm… No, that was it.

Principal Solaris: Well, if you need anything else, my door is always open. [Shuts the door rather loudly.]

[Dusk Shine walk away from the office and heads out into the hallway.  Once the coast is clear, Barb pokes her head out again.]

Barb: Dusk! Why didn’t you just tell him the helmet was yours and ask for it back?

Dusk Shine: You heard what he said.  He must think that fake helmet we found back in Equestria is the one Butterscotch found in this world.  If I just asked him for it, he might think I’m the thief.

Barb: You make a good point.

Dusk Shine: Looks like if I want my helmet back, I'll have to become Lord of the Canterlot High homecoming game. So that's what I'm gonna do!

Barb: And how exactly do you play on doing that.

Dusk Shine: I have no freakin’ idea!

[The bell rings again.]
